"Technicians of Tomorrow"
MTEC Scholarship

 

The "Technicians of Tomorrow" MTEC Scholarship is the creation of the Maine Energy Marketers Association Education Foundation. MTEC (MEMA Technical Education Center) is a nonprofit 501 [c] [3] educational vocational technical school certified by the State of Maine's Department of Education.

 

This scholarship awards 100% of the cost of tuition for the Energy Conservation Technician Basic Training course. (required tools for the course are excluded)

 

MEMA Technical Education Center (MTEC) does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities.

 

Eligibility for the scholarship is based on the following criteria:

  • The candidate must be preparing to graduate from High School, or if graduated, apply within 90 days of graduation.

  • Completion and submission of the Scholarship Application Form by stated deadline.

  • Submission of a 500 word essay on "What are your goals and why do you wish to better yourself within the oil heating industry?"

  • Submission of (3) character references from teachers or guidance counselors (provide name, address, telephone number, and relationship)

The complete scholarship application package must be received no later than May 14th, 2010 to be considered.

Candidates who meet all eligibility requirements will be reviewed by the acting Education Foundation Committee who will make recipient determinations. Currently, this scholarship will be awarded to 2 to 3 students per calendar year. Successful applicants will be notified by email and regular mail if they have been selected as a scholarship recipient. The scholarship recipients, along with up to (2) family members will be invited to the 2010 MEMA Convention that takes place each June, to be publicly recognized.

 

If a candidate declines the scholarship, the scholarship will be revoked.
